“We are the Future” 

Students across country walk out to demand new gun laws CNN-Mar.14, 2018

They want their voices heard. A month after the shooting massacre in a high school in Florida which left 17 people dead, an unprecedented number of students across the U.S. walked out of their classes, some marched to White House, asking for actions to end school shootings. At 10 am in each time zone, the National School Walkout took place for 17 minutes, each minute was dedicated for each victim of the Florida shooting. Though penalties may be imposed in some school districts, students took strides out of their classrooms to ask lawmakers to:

  - Ban assault weapons;

  - Require universal background checks before gun sales;

  - Pass a gun violence restraining order law to disarm potentially dangerous people.

One student cited, "Change never happens without backlash." Now it is time for adults to respond to the movement. After all, it is for their children and for their future.

Enjoy reading and thinking if there was ever a day when students would march to commemorate the achievement of the movement they initiated.

Write why you think An family in Reading-1 was successful in their business but the Bancroft family in Reading-2 had to sell their business in 100 words.

An family members committed to their business but the Bancroft people made no effort to the business.

An daughters were taught to unite to make success and they worked hard from their youth, they naturally worked together and compensated each other. They tried and worked hard for success and enjoyed working together as a family.

On the other hand, the Bankroft family members weren’t involved in the business directly, had different opinions but didn’t work or communicate each other. They just owned the business they succeeded but didn’t have passion to solve the problems or manage the business.

The Wall Street Journal  (WSJ)

is an American international daily newspaper with a special emphasis on business and economic news. It is published in New York City by Dow Jones & Company, a division of News Corporation, along with the Asian and European editions. 

The Journal is the largest newspaper in the United States, with a circulation of 2.4 million copies, including 900,000 online paid subscriptions, as of March 2013, compared to USA Today's 1.7 million. It primarily covers American economic and international business topics, and financial news and issues. 

Its name derives from Wall Street, located in New York City, which is the heart of the financial district; it was first printed in 1889, purchased by a journalist Clarence Barron, succeeded and controlled by his descendants, the Bancroft Family in 1928 until it was sold to News Corporation.

Space Debris-Senior 3-Mar.7

This company wants to clean up space

Space is supposedly clean and quiet. No air, sound or gravity. But in fact, there are millions of pieces of space debris, broken or torn pieces of human-made objects in Earth orbit, such as old satellites and spent rocket stages. Some of them are as large as satellites or large enough to be tracked, but most of them are smaller than 1 cm. Too small to worry about? The problem is there are too many of them in space and they travel too fast. The speed of such debris is nearly seven times faster than a bullet, or over 10,000km per hour. Any flying object at that speed could cause substantial or catastrophic damage to a spacecraft or satellite. Furthermore, when such object hits each other, more pieces of space debris are created. As more satellites are being launched and planned to earth’s orbit for commercial, science or military use, the chances for such collisions are increasing. Sounds like dumping trash without any thought of collection or clean up, doesn’t it?

Now there is a company that wants to tackle this present and clear danger. But how?

The world population has grown to over seven billion people, and more people live in large cities than in the past.

People look for jobs in big cities because they have more businesses, ports, transportation, and educational institutes.

As more people move into cities, the land prices rise, and taller buildings are constructed to accommodate the new residents and businesses.

New systems to provide services, such as water, electricity, and trash collection and disposal, are needed to cope with increasing population.

Also, traffic and air pollution problems caused by increased number of cars on the streets need to be dealt with.

As more people live and work in large cities, these growing problems need to be solved.
