Sentence Variety-Sep 12

- Simple sentence: I’m Japanese. I sometimes play tennis but I usually don’t exercise so much.

- Exclamatory sentence: Ouch!  It hurts!
- Imperative sentence: Be careful. Don’t eat too fast.
- Compound sentence: I like to read, and I also like to write.

Inequalities need to be reduced between developed and developing, and rich and poor countries. What also needs to be reduced is deepening inequalities among vulnerable populations, such as refugees, migrants, minorities, indigenous peoples, older persons, people with disabilities, and children.

- Children in the poorest 20% of the population are three times more likely to die before their fifth birthday than in the richest countries.

- In developing countries, maternal mortality rates in rural areas are still up to three times higher than in urban areas.

- Many women live below 50% of the *median income. (the income amount that divides a population into two equal groups, an income above that amount and below that amount. It usually differs from the mean (average) income)

Goal 10.1: Achieve higher income growth of the bottom 40% of the population than the national average.

Goal 10.2: Promote social, economic, and political equalities among all peoples.

Goal 10.3: Reduce inequalities by eliminating discriminatory laws, policies, and practices.

The SDG goal 10 aims to reduce inequalities among developed and underdeveloped countries and within countries. 

Children and women are extremely vulnerable especially in developing countries and rural areas, dying earlier and living unhealthy lives. 

The goal tries to eliminate discriminatory laws, policies, and practices to reduce inequalities in all aspects.

Write a brief summary of the article in four sentences.

Par.1,2 There are heated arguments as to who actually wrote all Shakespeare’s plays, especially between the Oxfordians and the Stratfordians because there are just too many works under his name.

Par.3-4 The Oxfordians believe that Shakespeare was an actor but not the author of the works because of his lack of education.  

Par.5-7 The Stratfordians claim there are no rational reasons to doubt that Shakespeare wrote the works/on Shakespeare’s authorship.

Par.8 The debate doesn’t seem to settle in the near future because it is highly unlikely that either side of the believers can provide sufficient proof to convince the other.

William Shakespeare (1564-1616) Born in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language. Between 1585 and 1592, he began a successful career in London as an actor, writer, and part-owner of a playing company. His early plays were mainly comedies and histories which are regarded as some of the best works produced in these genres. He wrote 37 plays including tragedies like Hamlet, Othello, Romeo and Juliette, King Lear, and Macbeth, which are considered some of the finest works in the English language.
