The 17 goals are integrated so that one area will affect outcomes in others to balance social, economic, and environmental sustainability. The SDGs are committed by all UN member states and call for worldwide action among governments, businesses, and civil society.

Leave no one behind (LNOB) is the central, transformative promise of the SDGs. It represents the unequivocal commitment of all UN Member States to eradicate poverty in all its forms, end discrimination and exclusion, and reduce the inequalities and vulnerabilities that leave people behind and undermine the potential of individuals and of humanity as a whole.

The coronavirus pandemic has spread human suffering, destabilized the global economy, and suffering the lives of billions of people around the globe. The Sustainable Development Goals are vital for a recovery that leads to greener, more inclusive economies, and stronger, more flexible societies.
