The American Civil War began in 1861, after decades of tensions between northern and southern states over slavery, states’ rights, and westward expansion. I think the way Doritos created buzz by having customers participate and be involved in their ad is the most successful way to promote the product. Those who created their TV ads are keen to win the competition. They try hard to come up with creative ways from customers’ viewpoints. 

Also, the viewers of those ads are likely to feel they are part of the Doritos brand. As they see more ads and their opinions are reflected in the competition, they will naturally buy more Doritos snack food.
