Writing-Jun 30

Write about how you studied before you learned about the brain in one or two sentences
and how you plan to study now in 4-6 sentences.
Review Q-Classroom, Read-1, Read-2 -> Plan & Write Brainstorm B/p.41: Complete the chart
[Before] I used to read the same notes over and over. I studied very late at night, so I didn't focus very well. I listened to music while I studied. I thought music helped, but it didn't.
[Now] Now I need to improve my study activities.
I will study in a quiet place, so I can learn better/to learn better.
Also, I will review new material many times, but I will practice for a short time. Concentration helps me learn better.
In addition, I will test myself from time to time. This will help me find what I remembered or learned well or not.
Tips: Try using comparative: play quieter music, study harder in a shorter time, start studying earlier.

Video Transcript-Jun 23

The human brain has over 100 billion neurons
These cells are the basis for all your brain’s activity.
All these neurons are connected in a network
Each neuron communicates with many other neurons.

Some cells have thousands of connections; others, just a few.
The number of connections between neurons in a human brain is greater than the number of stars in our sky.

To try to understand the complexity of this network, think of a city like New York.
Each person is a neuron. Then *multiply the size of the city by 1,000
The whole city is the brain, and each person is a neuron in its network, communicating to others.

Neurons are flexible. They are not bound to each other.
Neurons can make and break their connections with other neurons.
Every time we learn a new skill or learn new information, our neurons make new connections.
Networks of neurons that are used get stronger, and networks of neurons that are not used are lost.
In this way, the brain changes itself constantly.
Throughout your life, these changing connections mean you can truly change your mind.

Segway ChatGPT-Jun 13

ChatGPT [Explain briefly to a child why the Segway was unsuccessful]
Well, the Segway was a cool invention that was supposed to be a new way for people to get around. It was like a small, two-wheeled scooter that you could stand on and it would balance itself. It was really fun to ride!
But even though it was a neat idea, there were a few reasons why it didn't become very popular. One reason is that it was quite expensive. Not many people could afford to buy one, so not a lot of people had them.
Another reason is that it wasn't very practical for everyday use. It was designed more for short trips or sightseeing, but it wasn't really useful for things like going to school or work. People still preferred cars or bicycles for those kinds of things.
Lastly, it wasn't so easy to use in crowded places or on uneven surfaces. You had to be careful not to bump into people or things, and it wasn't great for going up hills or over bumpy roads.
Because of these reasons, not enough people bought the Segway, and the company that made it didn't sell as many as they had hoped. Eventually, they stopped making them.
But even though it wasn't successful, the Segway was still an interesting invention that showed us new possibilities for transportation. And sometimes, even if something doesn't work out, we can learn from it and try again with new ideas!
Write the three reasons why the Segway wasn't successful.
1. Too expensive
2. Not practical for daily use
3. Difficult to use in a crowded or on a rough surface.

Write MIs-Jun 13

Write the Main Ideas of the section in two sentences.
[How Segway is used] Segways are used to deliver things, assist people to move, and patrol public places.
[Why not Used]
Although Segways can take place for walking in some areas like delivering or patrolling,
they are neither as popular nor practical as bicycles because Segway is new and unique.

The story (of the movie) was boring but I enjoyed watching the movie with my boyfriend.
