[9] Adverb-1: manner

Danny works (v) hard (adv). He’s (be) a hard (adj) worker. Yes, he is (be) hardworking (adj). He works (v) as hard (adv) as he can. But his boss works (v) harder (adv) than him. She works (v) faster (adv) and better (adv) than him. She also speaks (v) more clearly (adv) and easily (adv) to others. She is also a good (adj) learner.      In these examples, “more” is also an adverb.

[9] Adverb-2: frequency
Eric always (adv) studies hard (adv). He rarely (adv) goes to bed before midnight. Luna usually (adv) does her homework at night. She sometimes (adv) gets up early (adv) to study math. Fred seldom (adv) does his homework. He never (adv) studies after dinner. He doesn’t want to study any longer (adv). He is no longer (adv) interested (adj) in studying.

[9] Adverb-3: frequency, grade

It was very (adv) cold (adj) this morning. It was quite (adv) unusual (adj). 

It was too (adv) cold (adj) to go out.

Fred plays tennis well. He also watches videos all the time. He often eats ice cream. He enjoys talking to his friends very much. He doesn’t like studying math so much but he is studying it hard now. After that, he will cook dinner, eat it with his family, and wash the dishes after dinner. Then, he will watch TV with his family. He will take a shower, brush his teeth, and read a book before going to bed.

I went to London last year. I visited a library. The library looked ancient. I liked the building a lot. A guide told me that it was/is modern. I bought a postcard and sent it to my parents. They sent me an email in return.

[8] Verb-VNN (someone, something)

Dad bought me a cute pencil case on my birthday. Mom made me a birthday cake. My brother gave me nothing. He said he would buy me a strawberry smoothie someday. I will not give him anything on his birthday.

Fred sent me a text message last night. He asked me an interesting question. I called him immediately and told him my answer. Later, he wrote me another question. It didn’t seem important. I didn’t give him a reply.

A foreigner asked me the way to a museum. She showed me a photo of the museum. I gave her the directions. I also taught her the way to the nearby station. She thanked me a lot.
