Write a summary of the text in five to eight sentences.

The world population has grown to over seven billion people, and more people are living in large cities than ever before.

People look for jobs in big cities because they have more businesses, ports, transportation, and educational institutes.

As more people move into cities, the land prices rise, and taller buildings are constructed to accommodate new residents and businesses.

New systems are required to provide services, such as water, electricity, and trash collection and disposal to cope with the increasing population.

Also, traffic and air pollution problems caused by the increased number of cars on the streets have to be dealt with.

As more people live and work in large cities, these growing problems need to be solved.

I’m interested to work for/in a Non-Government Organization, or N.G.O. to help people in developing countries.

There are many people in developing countries who need help to get basic necessities, such as water, food, medicines, electricity and education.

Although the government of those countries is responsible to provide these necessities to their citizens, not all of them does or can do it enough.

I learned there are numbers of N.G.O.s that help those people in developing countries, such as Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders.

They seem to play more important roles in the future as the population of developing countries increase for the next decades.

If I get a chance to work as a member of such organization, I’ll be happy to go anywhere to work for people in need for help.  (six sentences, 133 words)

Though there are many skyscrapers now, constructions of tall buildings were limited until the 20^th century because people couldn’t climb up so high, and the buildings were made of bricks and stones.
Two major inventions made it possible to build taller buildings, a strong vertical framework of steel beams and safety elevators.
Design problems to build tall buildings are space for elevators, the necessity to bring things, air and electricity up and down in, and safety against strong winds.
