英検の大学入試英語成績提供システムへの利用　（MEL News-2019/8）

大学入学共通テストは英語の「読む・聞く・話す・書く」の４技能を測るため、高校３年の４～１２月に２回まで受けた民間試験の結果が大学入試センターに提供されます。

英検には４技能を全てパソコンで受験するCBT方式と、「話す」テストのみコンピューター上で受けるS-CBT方式があります。いずれも４～７月（第１回）、８～１１月（第２回）に受験した成績（の良い方）を、大学入試センターを通じて受験校に送ることができます。

大学入試英語成績提供システムシステムを使って民間試験結果を利用する生徒は、9月から在籍している高校経由で受験番号の申請が始まり、来年1月に大学入試センターから共通IDが発行されます。民間試験を受験して成績提供システムを利用する場合、英検を受験する際に共通IDを入力・記入することになります。

多くの受験者が見込まれる英検S-CBT方式（ペーパー試験＋吹き込み）は、9月に第一回目（4~7月受験）、来年1月に第二回目（8~11月受験）の予約申し込み（予約金3,000円）を行うことによって受験枠を確保できます。本申込は各々来年2月、6月で、その際に残金（2級の場合4,500円）を支払うことになります。

但し、CBT方式とS-CBT方式を同じ検定（第1回、第2回）で両方受験することは出来ません。9月に学校でS-CBT方式の申込を推奨するかも知れませんが、CBT方式に慣れているMEL Schoolの生徒は必要ありません。後日英検が発表する申込期間内に、各自で必ずCBT方式の受験を申し込んでください。

第二回目： 2020年8/23, 9/13, 10/18, 11/23

MEL Schoolの生徒は

・ CBT方式への対応練習を続けている

・ 既に2級で十分なスコアに達している

・ 今年度あと2回受験して、更に慣れておく機会がある

・ 2020年4月に十分なスコアが出せれば、以降の学習や受験にゆとりがもてる

以上の理由から、来年第一回目の初回、4月19日に英検2級CBT試験の受験を推奨します。

各大学の民間試験結果の活用は様々ですが、主な要件は英検2級のスコアです。学部によっては各スキルの最低スコアを設定しているところもありますが、今後更に多様化していくことが予想されます。いずれにしても、MEL Schoolが必達目標としている各スキル550/650、トータル2200/2600以上は十分なスコアです。

なお、一部資格級として準1級を要件や加点の対象としている難関校や国際系の学部もあります。他の民間試験のスコア要件よりは取得しやすいと思われるので、2級で2,300を越えていれば受験して可能性を測ってみてもよいでしょう。（但し準1級が大学入試英語成績提供システムに利用できるかどうかは未確定）

On the fourth of July, The United States of America celebrated its 243rd birthday. It declared independence from Great Britain on the fourth of July 1776 and became the first European colony to be recognized by the international community after the American Revolutionary War that ended in 1783. Other countries in the American continents followed suit and became independent in the next century, like Mexico from Spain, Brazil from Portugal, and Canada from Britain.

On the fourth of July, Americans celebrate their birthday party and enjoy ceremonial events across the country. Firework displays, parades, and barbeque parties, to name a few. Somehow, hot dog is the most popular food to celebrate this birthday, and over 150 million hot dogs were eaten last year, according to an industry organization. Actually, a single man ate 71 hot dogs in 30 minutes at the Nathan's Famous hot dog eating contest to defend his title.

The original form of the US consisted of 13 former British colonies. The number of states expanded and finally became 50 when Alaska and Hawaii were added to the list in 1959. The country has now the strongest economy, military, and stomach for junk food.
