Artworks in museums represent the human history and are valuable to all of us.
Museums try to prevent such treasures from being stolen by various measures, such as security cameras, alarms, and secured cases.
Thieves try to steal those valuable objects from smaller museums because their security measures aren’t as sophisticated/tight/strict as large museums.
Selling stolen artworks is more difficult than stealing them because the potential buyers, usually art dealers, are warned about the theft.
Though the police try to find the stolen artworks and arrest the thieves, they don’t always succeed.
