1. Intro, A New Kind of Restaurant: McDonald’s brothers innovated the operation of a hamburger restaurant into a fast food business in California in 1948.  
2. Another Fast-food Restaurant is Born: The fast-food business was copied and grew rapidly at a time when the economy was growing, and automobiles became popular among families.

3. The Growth of a New Industry, The Model SpreadsThis business model was so efficient that other new restaurant chains emerged and expanded nationwide, such as Burger King, and Kentucky Fried Chicken.  
4. Par. 8 & 9 (L61~): The chain store business model was soon adopted by other retail businesses like clothing stores and hotels and became an international phenomenon.
