Crowdfunding to buy a beach
Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising monetary contributions from a large number of people, today often performed via internet-mediated registries. Crowdfunding is a form of alternative finance, which has emerged outside of the traditional financial system.
The crowdfunding model is based on three types of actors: the project initiator who proposes the idea and/or project to be funded; individuals or groups who support the idea; and a moderating organization that brings the parties together to launch the idea.            Source: Wikipedia

A *pristine beach in New Zealand bought through a crowdfunding campaign has been handed to its new owners - the public. Nearly 40,000 people donated almost NZ$2.3m (US$1.7m) to buy the Awaroa beach in the Abel Tasman National Park, on the South Island.    *pristine: original and pure; not spoiled
The seven-hectare site will now be run by a national park. The (1)              owner, businessman Michael Spackman, agreed to sell the beach after the online crowdfunding campaign reached its target in a little more than three weeks. The purchase ensured the beach will (2)             out of private hands. "It's a great day," campaigner Duane Major told the BBC. "Sometimes you can feel powerless, so for us, it's been a marvellous experience of empowerment. "There's been a real feeling of coming together. People in other countries have recognised what it's been all about too. "We're in an age with various forms of technology that can pull people apart. But in this case it brought people (3)           ."
New Zealand's government made a small contribution to the crowdfunding campaign, which Mr Major said was started because of "gut instinct". But another offer to contribute by a prominent businessman and philanthropist, who said he would make up any shortfall in exchange for exclusive access to part of the beach for his family, was (4)                . The campaign also negotiated with local Maori groups, who had argued the beach should be handed over to them. Mr Major said the Maori community would be (5)           in the future of the land.

I think getting donations from 40,000 people out of 4.5 million people in just three weeks is very fast.
The reason is, this crowdfunding is for the individual and other people won't have benefit and also, they are negotiated about nature which has to be belonged by everyone.
This is why i think this is very fast and this crowdfunding is wrong.

I think it's great that 40,000 people donated for the beach in just three weeks.
Trust is neccesary to have great support of people through the big project.
And I felt that it took a long time and a wide relationships to gain that trust.

I think it’s not so difficult. It means if one in a hundred donated, the project will be achieved. I think there are many people who are interested in owning private beach.

I think it was a pretty small number and short period.
I think the number of participants increased if they had to extend the period.
It doesn’t seem to have a big impact because there are few people who can use this survive.

I think the Awara beach attracts people in the New Zealand. That reason, if there were sea nearby they would want to live there. So the New Zealand population has increased.
